Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 September 2026.

This policy covers adbotdetection.ai and adbotdetection.com, and the landing pages we run advertising to. It describes what we collect from people who visit those pages, who else receives it, and how to have it removed.

Ad Bot Detection is a bot-detection service for advertisers. Two different kinds of data are described below and they are kept apart: information about you, when you ask us for something, and information about traffic to our clients' ad campaigns, which is what the product exists to analyse.

1. What we collect when you use this site

Information you give us

  • Name, email address and phone number, when you request an audit, start a trial, or book a call.
  • Your website or domain, when you ask us to scan it.
  • Answers you type into our forms — for example your monthly ad spend or which platforms you advertise on.

Information collected automatically

  • IP address and browser user-agent.
  • Advertising click identifiers carried on the link you arrived through — Meta's fbclid, Google's gclid, and equivalents from other ad platforms.
  • Campaign parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term) and the page you landed on.
  • An anonymous visitor identifier stored in your browser, so repeat visits in the same session are recognised as one person rather than several.
  • Automated-traffic signals derived from the request — request fingerprint, network reputation and behaviour — used to judge whether a visit is human. This is the same technique the product applies for clients, applied to our own site.
  • Session activity, including pages viewed, scroll depth, clicks, and how far through our videos you watched.
  • Session recordings and heatmaps via Microsoft Clarity, which reconstruct mouse movement, clicks and scrolling on our pages. Text you type into form fields is masked by Clarity's default masking.

2. Third parties that receive data from this site

These services run on our pages and receive data directly from your browser. Each has its own privacy policy, and their use of the data is governed by it rather than by this one.

3. Why we are allowed to hold it

  • To give you what you asked for — running the scan you requested, sending the report, creating your trial, or holding the call you booked.
  • Our legitimate interest in running the business — understanding which pages and adverts work, keeping our own site free of automated traffic, and following up on enquiries.
  • Your consent, where the law where you live requires it for advertising and analytics cookies.

4. How long we keep it

  • Contact records and correspondence: until you ask us to delete them, or 24 months after our last contact with you, whichever comes first.
  • Audit reports and the scans behind them: 24 months.
  • Site analytics and traffic logs: up to 14 months.
  • Session recordings: as long as Microsoft Clarity retains them under its own policy.

5. Traffic data we process for clients

When a business becomes our client, we analyse traffic to their advertising — IP addresses, user agents, request fingerprints and behavioural signals of people visiting their sites. For that data our client is the controller and we act on their instructions. If you believe your visit to one of our clients' sites was processed by us and you want it removed, contact that business, or contact us and we will pass the request on.

6. Cookies and browser storage

We use browser storage for three things: to keep you signed in where that applies, to remember the anonymous visitor identifier described above, and to let the advertising and analytics services in section 2 set their own cookies. You can clear or block these through your browser settings; the site will still work, but the parts that remember you between pages will not.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see what we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, object to how we use it, or receive a copy in a portable format. If you are in the EU or UK this is the GDPR; in California, the CCPA/CPRA. We do not charge for these requests and we do not treat you differently for making one.

To exercise any of them, email privacy@adbotdetection.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request, so that we do not disclose someone's data to the wrong person.

To stop receiving our email, use the unsubscribe link on any message we send, or email the address above.

8. Where the data is held

We are based in the United States and the services in section 2 are operated from the United States and other countries. If you are outside the United States, using this site means your information is transferred there.

9. Children

This is a service sold to businesses. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email the address above and we will delete it.

10. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will say so on this page.
